Our music
Our unique repertoire spans folk, medieval, Renaissance, English choral works, vintage popular songs, and newly commissioned works. We are a heritage-inspired choir, drawing on musical treasures from multiple eras and styles.
Under the direction of composer Stef Conner, our philosophy balances musical ambition with warmth, humour, and support. While you don’t need prior experience, expect to be inspired and challenged by innovative arrangements and beautiful, unusual texts.
Our musical director
Founder, and Director of Cambridge Timeline Choir, Stef Conner is a composer and performer making new music out of old worlds – from cuneiform tablets and Roman inscriptions to Old English riddles and mediaeval ballads. Her work fuses folk, ancient, and contemporary classical traditions. She performs with Kathryn Tickell and the Darkening; sings with Sequentia and Lotos Lab; and has released solo albums The Flood (in Babylonian, with the Gold Lyre of Ur) and Riddle Songs (Delphian).
Our collaborations
Over the past decade, we have commissioned original vocal works from composers including Kerry Andrew, Chris Leedham, Charlotte Baskerville, Hannah Conway, Alison Willis, and Jonathan Brigg.
In 2025, we partnered with the Cambridge University Library’s Curious Cures exhibition, bringing medieval medical texts to life through new choral compositions. Listen to our Curious Cures recordings here.
